So, why do we feel guilty when we read a magazine or get our nails done?

“Oh, I should be at home spending time with my child.” (Even though you’ve spent the better part of the day reading out loud and playing Legos.)

Or, “I could buy Little Trey a new pair of pants with this manicure money.” (Even though Little Trey doesn’t really need a new pair of pants!)

Somehow, we think that being 100% of everything and giving 100% of what we have to our children makes us a better mom. Guess what? I tried it and it doesn’t work that way.

We take care of our kids, that’s a given. But we also have to take care of ourselves so that we can be at our best for our children!

Here’s an article I want to share with you by Dr. Claire (Mom’s Wellbeing) listing 7 reasons why self-care isn’t selfish. Read it, then go read your favorite magazine!!
