Our founder, Alicea Jones

Alicea Jones is the founder and executive director of Mommie Support Network and is the passion behind all that we do to support moms.

Shortly after her daughter was born, Alicea returned to her role as an executive in the banking industry. She soon made the decision to retire from her executive role to be a full-time mom. Those early years proved challenging for Alicea as she suffered with post-partum depression while adjusting to motherhood and transitioning out of her high-impact career.

These experiences helped shape Alicea’s heart and sensitivity for moms raising young children. Alicea believes that while it is important to focus on our children, many times moms are living with wells that are half-full. They sometimes feel uncertain and alone. Alicea’s passion to support moms is inspiring. It is her vision and tenacity, with the help of other dedicated women, that made A Day for Moms a reality.

Alicea is also a prolific writer who has won numerous awards. She authored Genuinely Georgetown (which can be purchased on Amazon or found in local Georgetown shops), and has created many devotionals for mothers.
