Moms need…
PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND SPIRITUAL WELL-BEING
SUPPORT NETWORKS THAT CARE, SHARE, AND UPLIFT EACH OTHER
A mom’s wellness is much more than her physical health, exercise or nutrition. It is the full integration of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Moms must be empowered to cope with the challenges life can bring while raising their children. They must be able to acknowledge and share feelings of anger, fear, sadness or stress; hope, love, joy and happiness in a productive manner. And they must be able to establish and nurture peace and harmony in their lives no matter what is going on around them.
Mommie Support Network holistically addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of moms through our outreach and resources.
Being a mom is hard. And for many moms, the difficulty of motherhood is experienced alone. While they may have been warned how hard it would be by well-meaning family and friends, they don’t fully appreciate the demands of motherhood until the baby comes.
Mommie Support Network believes moms need a supportive network of women who are experiencing the same adjustments and struggles of parenthood.
Our goal is to provide a nurturing network of moms who learn from and support each other. When a mom connects with other moms to share their experiences, she can walk away knowing she is not alone.
ACCESS TO RESOURCES AND EDUCATION TO SUPPORT THEM
A TIME OUT EVERY NOW AND THEN TO REFLECT AND RENEW
Many moms have trouble accessing services and resources because the amount of information available is hard to find, scattered or overwhelming.
For moms struggling with post-partum depression, anxiety, or other emotional concerns, finding help can be even more daunting.
Mommie Support Network is committed to providing essential information on topics that are most important to moms. We do this through our Resources page, our blog, and newsletters.
Ninety percent of American mothers report high levels of stress. Yet many moms don’t take a “time out” to detox from the stress and reconnect with themselves.
Traditions and social norms dictate and encourage moms to give every ounce of themselves to others, hardly leaving enough time or energy at the end of the day to restore themselves.
This places tremendous responsibility on moms and eventually results in the entire family not functioning well.
Mommie Support Network believes it is important that moms take a much-deserved time out to restore, refresh, and renew. We support this through our annual A Day for Mom Conference where moms have the freedom to rediscover and learn how to take better care of themselves, and connect with other moms.
Journaling Can Relieve Mom Stress (Part II)
Something transformative happens when you journal. It's a cathartic experience that moves low feelings from the mind to the paper. Here's an interesting article by Sammie Scott for Postpartum Progress. Sammie talks about self-care not just being about the body, but...
Journaling Can Relive Mom Stress (and you don’t even have to be good at it!) Part I
I'm a writer. I write for a living. I also write for my sanity. Putting pen to paper has a way of not only transferring thoughts but also shifting worry from my brain to the pad. And somehow, by the time I get finished jotting down whatever I'm feeling, my mood is...
Confessions of an Imperfect Mom
Over the first few years of my child's life, I tried to be the perfect mom, or at least what I imagined was perfection. I drove myself crazy and into depression, doubting my ability. I was so afraid that I’d forget how long it had been since I’d given her the...
